Sun Gone

Sun gone behind the evening clouds,

To hide from the night,

Prolong their back and forth dance

Of illumination and shadowy dusk.

Heighten the horizon's hue

Of every spectrum; Spectral elegance,

We should be so lucky to perceive,

But, alas, would never appreciate.

How could we?

We are too blind to see

What is already there for us to see,

But we believe ourselves.
