N A T U R E Garden Rain Dances

I am out in the garden and it is about to rain, I can feel it. The wind is restless and confused and seems to want to blow in every direction at once. The clouds are looming, heavy in greys and whites. I can hear thunder off in the distance somewhere, echoing sharply and resounding, its last vibrations barely dissipating before BOOM BOOM...

The thunder crackles and explodes overhead. All the plants are swaying anxiously, craving their late afternoon drink. The heavy clouds, now saturated, seem to bend and sink pleading with space to allow a release. And then everything is still and for a moment the world and its beings hold their breaths. I inhale the stillness and as I exhale I feel the first drop touch gently my upper chest. As gravity pulls it down slowly toward my stomach there is a second, and a third, and...

The rain comes on slowly, and as quickly as I recognize its pace increases and frantic drops fall quickly, they become larger, more desperate and full. The first minute produces a brilliant glaze of fresh moisture that seems to radiate from everything it touches a vibrancy of stunning hue, so full of color almost colorless. The rain re-paints the world a divine and fleeting purity, if only for a moment.

Jacob - I was listening to some of my really old recordings tonight, and then I came acros this poem. You read this to me the other day, as I recall. Anyway, I read it out loud a couple of times, and found it fit perfectly with an old recording of mine called "Rain (take 2)". I recorded the poem over the song, you can download below:

If you don't want to download, stream it herehttp://moundpark.tumblr.com/

I don't remember how to insert an mp3 that can be streamed, so if you (or anyone) can help out with that it would be easier to enjoy.
